Hey everyone,
Hope you're having a great summer. I wanted to ask a small favor that will only take a few minutes of your time...
VOTE FOR ROMAN TO BE ON ELIMIDATE!
One of my best friends, Roman Feola, who I have countless great memories of hanging out at parties and bars with, has a chance to be on the TV show Elimidate. But, he has to be voted on, so please go to www.elimidate.com at the bottom left is a graphic that says "Hey America! Help choose Cara's perfect man!" Click on that and then a bunch of guys will show up including Roman, watch videos if you want, but ultimately click on "VOTE" and vote for him, do this multiple times if possible.
He's very entertaining and rediculous. You might remember him from my Cancun column ("Dave Gone Wild" http://www.davidjakielo.com/columns/20040318.shtml) where I wrote:
Q. Did any of your friends get violently kicked in their "manly parts"? A. My friend Roman ran into Steve-O from MTV's Jackass one night and asked if he could get a picture. Steve-O, with impeccable timing, kicked Roman directly in his "nether region" just as the picture was taken. It should no doubt be his 2004 Christmas card. If Roman wins, his experience on Elimidate will be the topic of a future column.
Thanks!
David Jakielo

ADVICE MY DAD PASSED ALONG TO HIS MAILING LIST
I know we all consider ourselves to be bright and excellent problem solvers. Remember don't over do it.
When NASA first started sending up astronauts, they quickly discovered that ball-point pens would not work in zero gravity. To combat this problem, NASA scientists spent a decade and $12 billion developing a pen that writes in zero gravity, upside down, on almost any surface including glass and at temperatures ranging from below freezing to over 300 C. The Russians used a pencil.
