E-C-W!

Wrestling Alert! If you don't like professional wrestling because you think it is fake, dumb, phony, etc., then stop reading now and direct your attention, here. Thanks!

Tonight is the WWE version of an ECW reunion show on Pay-Per-View from the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. Back when I worked for ECW I attended a Pay-Per-View there and if that night was any indication, this "One Night Stand" show will be electric.

Here is the unadvertised line-up:

- Masato Tanaka vs Mike Awesome. These two had an amazing feud when I covered their matches back in the latter stages of ECW. Expect the stiff Japan style with broken tables.

- Lance Storm with Dawn Marie vs Chris Jericho. This will be Lance Storm's final match. Storm's first match was also against Jericho. The two at one point teamed together. Clearly, there is a lot of history between the two and they are very likely to put on a strong match. The first ECW match I ever watched involved Jericho vs. the late Pitbull #2. So personally it's fitting that Jericho is on the show.

Extreme luchador action: Rey Mysterio vs Psychosis. In recent years Psychosis has been a prime example of how important confidence is to a wrestler's career. Psychosis went through a period where he lost confidence in himself. Tonight, this bout should hopefully return Psychosis to his original greatness as he works with one of his best all-time opponents. If these two hit all their spots they could really amp the crowd up even a few more notches. Expect Psychosis to be in the WWE shortly.

A three way dance: The insane luchador Super Crazy vs Tajiri with Sinister Minister vs Little Guido. This is another great feud I covered while working for ECW. All three bring very unique styles to the table but manage to mesh well. All three have stayed active since ECW folded and are sure to deliver another solid effort.

Eddie Guerrero vs Chris Benoit. Like this even needs a preview.

Tommy Dreamer and The Sandman vs Bubba & D-Von Dudley. I expect every trick to be used in an attempt to re-create the ECW experience: blood, tables, chairs, fire, barbed wire, etc. Whatever the outcome the show will end with these four showing a mutual respect for one another to give the show a feel-good ending.

My thoughts on the show will be posted this week.
