Hola, I don't speak Spanish
BY DAVID JAKIELO
Students in the college of Liberal Arts are required to earn 12 credits towards a foreign language. After completing three semesters of Spanish classes, this is what I learned: I seriously need to get a high-paying job post-graduation. This way, if I ever need to communicate with a Spanish-speaking person, I can hire a translator to follow me around.
I will definitely need a translator because I certainly can't speak the language myself. For some reason my brain feels that I can get along perfectly fine with just the English language. The only time my brain wished it knew a language besides English was in a classroom setting or during those times at Chinese restaurants when it seemed employees were making fun of me in their native tongue.
