EXCERPT

An insider's look into creating The Duke
BY DAVID JAKIELO

When you read The Duquesne Duke during a boring class or while in the bathroom, do you ever wonder how the newspaper is produced? My goal, by the end of this column, is to give you, the reader, an understanding of the hard work and dedication one must give in both the journalism field and at The Duquesne Duke to produce a high-quality, reliable and trustworthy newspaper, which not only has a funny cartoon but also horoscopes. In addition, I really, really, really will do my best to make sure that by the end, not only are you better informed, I repeat, better informed, but that also, at the conclusion, my total word count fulfills the 800-word requirement set by my editor.
